Hi i got a 3com 10/100 TX 3c905b and e-smith finds it.
But i get network is unreachable.
I have tried and tried but no luck.

One netcard. And for intranet

Mr Cat,

Two questions: Have you assigned an IP address to the network card, & can you "ping" the IP from the e-smith (from itself) or other pc's on the network??

eg; # ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

it got a ip address and it can ping it self. but i cant ping the other pc´s on the network or ping the e-smith from other pc´s  i only get network is unreachable.
it´s only the out and incoming traffic that does´t work.

If the e-smith ip address is on the same subnet, (eg all ip's are 192.168.1.xxx and subnet mask 255.255.255.0) then I would suspect the
net card.

Some of us "gurus" make the mistake when typing ip addresses. Eg. I remember
typing 192.168.0.xxx on a Lan that was set as 192.168.1.xxx. & 255.255.255.0.  Naturally, 0.xxx cannot talk to 1.xxx while connected to the common hub.

Try swapping the net card for another and repeat the process.

The Lan has 192.168.1.xxx &255.255.255.0   i have tried swapping it in the config
but not network. tried with only one pc connected to the server without the hub. and with the hub.
