Post by: Kenneth Kowalsky on August 25, 2000, 10:12:50 AM
I was wondering how to install php on e-smith (I tried on a mandrake 7.1 box but failed to get mySQL support working)

Thanx

go to this web site
http://users3.50megs.com/danb35/webmail.html  it has more than you need, mysql, php4, and webmail.

I you can just do the php if you want.

Go to this site...

and click on web-based email...

the web-based email works like a charm, but you can omit it by stop installing packages after the php stuff.

Note: during installation one of the php rpm's balks saying apache 1.3.16 is needed (e-smith 4.0 comes with 1.3.09-- or something close to these numbers).  Just install the balky rpm using
   rpm -Uvh --nodeps ...
