Title: Exchange Behind E-smith
Post by: Kahn in OZ on September 22, 2000, 09:42:50 AM
All,

Firstly let me say that I'm very new to E-smith and Linux but I am very impressed with the results I'm getting with the 1st install of E-smith.

My goal is to have e-smith set up as a gateway & proxy server so that I can share an internet connection between two networks on two seperate Nic's.

So far it's working EXCELLENTLY  except for one small problem.

I have an Exchange Mail server setup on one of the internal networks and while I can set e-smith up to redirect incoming mail requests (using the e-smith manager )to my internal Exchange server I cannot figure out how to let my external users get access to their pop3 mail boxes.

I have figured out that it is a problem with port mapping but I cannot work out how to redirect a port request to the e-smith server to the appropriate port on the exchange server.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it

Kahn

Hi Kahn,

If you're looking for port forwarding assistance you're better off reposting your question to the Advanced User Forum.

A search for "forwarding" on that forum should turn up some very useful information as well.

Good luck!
