Title: /ETC/SMB.CONF doesn't work!

I've adjusted the org. smb.conf ... just the workgroup name and server name.
I've restarted the samba daemons
But it just won't work!
in the network neighbourhood of a windoze box in the same LAN the server only can be found with the org. e-smith syntaxis

I had a similar problem... I changed one of the options and it didn't work when I used "service smb restart". I just restarted the box and then it worked fine.
