Title: how to install on a HD only system?
Post by: Thijs on October 06, 2000, 04:56:38 PM
Hi!

I'm using a server with one harddisk only. So, no diskdrive or CD player available. Is there a way to install e-smith? I think I should install de HD first in my normal PC and install e-smith on it (or copy the uninstalled version to it) and setup the server neatly when the disk is placed back in the server. Could anybody give me a more detailed explanation how to do this? thanks in advance!

Use the bootnet.img from the CDROM and you can install via NFS

Just borrow a cd-rom from another system temporarily.  you don't need it after the inital install

That's what I've done in the past.
