Title: ident with mIRC
Post by: Kev on October 09, 2000, 09:18:49 PM
I am having trouble with ident on my e-smith server.
No matter what I do Efnet IRC servers will not allow me access and always comes back with the line "Please install ident on this server", although I know it is installed.

One of the people I share my connection with uses this particular group of servers all the time and is getting frustrated with this.

Any help in setting this up properly (preferably step by step) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Kev

Be sure to complain to Efnet. Insisting on ident is silly.

Do a search for "identd" on the General Discussion forum and you will find a number of useful postings. In particular, this one might help you:

How did you get it to work? I followed the example that Adrian posted to the letter and still can't get mirc to work on my windows machines!

Thanks in advance...
