Title: ADSL
Post by: Jason on October 02, 2000, 06:04:46 AM
I am connected to the net via ADSL on my e-smith gateway..

I would like to congradulate everyone who had something to do with building this program as it is just so easy to use...

However I have a domain which I wish to activate..to do this I need an IP address.
I recieve my IP from a dhcp server for my gateway..(From Telstra)
I am unable firstly to verify what the IP address is I am recieving...
Secondly I cannot seem to use the YI.ORG service to update as setup in the installation of the gateway..

I am all confused know...I am also a Linux newbie so please go easy on my stupidity..

have you followed the instructions
      at http://server.counter-strike.net/linuxbasic.html

are you using e-smith ver 4

      do you have hlds_l3103.tar.gz
      cs_beta71.tar.gz

they are the files you require

JASS in Canberra...
Sort of gives away where the server is..If your an Aussie...
Hope to see you there..
If you do go please tell me what the speed is like as I have put in ADSL at 256/64 but it is getting upgraded to 512/256 real shortly...

Your english is fine - and much better than my French.

There is currently no PPTP support in e-smith 4.0, but it is something that we hope to put in a future release. Keep looking at this bulletin board to see if anyone announces an enhancement to support PPTP over ADSL - I haven't seen one yet.

If you or anyone else is interested in helping with testing of PPTP over ADSL when it is developed, please send email to devinfo@e-smith.org and tell people that you will help with testing. Most developers do not have access to PPTP over ADSL, so will find it difficult to develop and test it themselves.

Regards

Charlie

Sorry....fixed.

The correct list address is devinfo@lists.e-smith.org and
devinfo@e-smith.org has been adjusted to work.
