Hello All,
I'm looking at setting up an instant messaging server for my internal network on my e-smith box. I've been looking at Jabber (www.jabber.org) because it looks pretty cool, it's open sourced, and there are rpms available. Has anyone tried this, or another instant messaging server on an e-smith box?
Thanks

We haven't looked at it in detail yet, but we are pretty interested in integrating Jabber with the e-smith server and gateway. It looks like all you'll need other than the jabber rpms is an e-smith-jabber RPM to manage the configuration - be sure to read the developer doco at www.e-smith.org - and if you come up with something before we do that'd be great. Be sure to join the developer mailing list.
Best wishes and have fun!

Thanks Charles. I'll have a go at it (as time allows).

Great idea, did anyone yet manage to install jabber on an e-smith box ?
