Title: does e-smith use procmail?

is procmail used by e-smith for delivering mail to local users? or is qmail used for this?

In e-smith, qmail is used to deliver mail to local users.

procmail is installed however, and can be used to process inbound mail by setting up a .procmailrc (see www.procmail.org) and then changing your ~/.qmail file to read:

|procmail ~/.procmailrc

instead of

./Maildir/
