I have e-smith 4.0 running with rp_pppoe rpm and e-smioth upgrade - it works fine - my ISP is DSL.ca and I had to change my clanpmss to 1350 so I could browse web sites like seagate - ne way I am having problems connecting to a game called asherons call - in the docs that mszone provide - asherons call uses a number of UDP ports to communicate with the asheron call server - ow before I ask my question - I am going to answer it myself - whenI use a cable connect thru the same server/gateway (machine) I can connect no problem - BTW I am asking this stupid question beause it will eliminate the e-smith being the problem - when I type ipchains --list in the console it come up with this:
Chain input (policy ACCEPT)
Chain forward (policy Deny)
target prot opt source destination ports
MASQ all -------- 192.168.1.0/24 anywhere n/a
chain output (policy ACCEPT)
does this mean that the UDP ports are filtered?? Why does PROT say all (TCP,UDP,ICMP)??
why is source have an IP that is not correct - and lastly why does ports say N/A??
thanks for your time

ok, I have ruled out the adsl - I connected it directly to the windoze box and I can play the game - I hooked the cable modem to the esmith box and I could play the game - the only thing that is different in the esmith box is the RP_PPPOE rpm from roaring penguin - is there another supported pppoe rpm that I can use to connect to the internet???
