Title: Squid
Post by: Steve Laird on September 24, 1999, 07:39:58 AM
With all my rebooting to correctly set the time I noticed that squid would hang on the shutdown/reboot. My win98 boxes are setup to automatically detect proxy settings, however I don't want to use it. I disabled squid by going to setup/system services, unchecked squid and rebooted. Any problems with this?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steven,

Are you sure that Squid is hanging on the shutdown/reboot?  Sometimes it does take awhile for Squid to clean up its cache...

But disabling Squid is completely fine too.  There should be no problems!

Regards,

Kim
