Is there any information on what the "e-smith-baseupdate" fixes or changes and any news on the e-smith 5 release?

e-smith-base-35 is now available, and it is not listed in the bug fixes.

The directory ftp://pub/e-smith/e-smith-4.0/updates/RPMS/noarch
contains the only published update RPM:

Jul 26 18:22  rpm              e-smith-base-4.0.12-28.noarch.rpm  230Kb

The RPM that you refer to is a contributed RPM which has no official status. If you are interested in contributing to development of the e-smith server and gateway software, please join the developer mailing list. See http://www.e-smith.org/content/developers/.
