I have looked in all of these forums and I cannot find one doc on how to setup e-smith to allow users to access pop3 email from the internet. I see the doc on setting up web mail but I do not need that much overhead on my server. All I need is to simply allow users to access their mail from the internet, I dont need web based email. is there a simple config for this, or can someone point me in the right direction..
thanks much..

If you haven't done so already, grab the User Guide, print it out and read it. Then have a look at the "Other email settings" page of the web manager.

I'm no expert with E-Smith at all, (in fact my box has died and I havent worked out how to get it up again :o) however I had plenty of problems with Email and to be honest it still isn't all resolved, however;
When you say you want to let folk retrieve their email, do you mean you just want users to get mail from any old account using the E-Smith server to connect to their external pop3 accounts. In other words not using the E-Smith server as a mail server?
I had lots of trouble trying to do this but now thankfully I got it sorted.
