there is only a el5 version of the contrib ie sme8 there is no sme10 version

guys please can you assist me with SME 10.1 smeserver-sitemaker

when i try to install the contrib i get an error
# yum --enablerepo=smecontribs install smeserver-sitemaker

No package smeserver-sitemaker available

any help greatly appreciated

I managed to start Apache. It's working. But I can't find the folders I usually use.
Can someone help me find the DocumentRoot folder and the configuration files?

we do not use httpd.service on sme but httpd-e-smith.service. 


trying to play with the one we do not use will conflict and fail the one we use. 

the name of the service is the same since sme 7

You can check the AdminLTE theme too for something more bootstrapy.

Password length increased because it's 2025 and things have changed, but yes, the language files & messaged are still WIP so noted.

from one of the workers on the road to alpha and beta

Rocky8 default is lvm, so underlying option is lvm.
We could easily change default to non-lvm and the advanced options to be lvm.
Text install will do an automatic install. No option to change settings

I should say el8 ( as rhel and CentOS 8 do the same)

You can reset the strength back to old setting if needed

Nice to see a new version of SME Server to try out. The slightly changed look is enough to look modern but not so much as to be unfamiliar. However, trying to set up new users was really frustrating. Every attempt I made was greeted with a complaint about something I hadn't done. Referring to the wiki I quickly discovered that the password rules from older versions no longer apply - 7 chars in particular. I would urge you to change the user creation screen to include some text to say what the password rules actually are to avoid putting people off.

Good evening, gentlemen.
I'm back to tell you that Apache is now working.
After so many uses of systemctl start, restart, status, etc. so much,
it started working again after a reboot.
