Update 2 failed due to PHP upgrade
« on: June 28, 2002, 11:41:01 PM »
Hi,

I've updated PHP to version 4.1.2 previously. Now while trying to install Update2 for 5.1.2 I get these error messages:

There are package conflicts with the SMEServer-5.1.2_Update2 blade
error: failed dependencies:
php >= 4.1.0 is needed by horde-2.0-4es
php >= 4.1.0 is needed by turba-1.0-5es
php >= 4.1.0 is needed by imp-3.1-2es
php-imap >= 4.1.0 is needed by imp-3.1-2es

Anybody any idea ?

Regards,
guestHH

The other packages are dependencies for Mitel's build of PHP.  AFAIK they won't hurt anything, but they aren't necessary either.

Hi,

I also upgraded PHP before (needed for upgrade of IMP) and want to prevent getting the errors RequestedDeletion got.

I suppose it is safe to manually install these files to upgrade:

apache-1.3.22-6es1.i386.rpm
openssh-3.1p1-2es1.i386.rpm
openssh-clients-3.1p1-2es1.i386.rpm
openssh-server-3.1p1-2es1.i386.rpm
SMEServer-5.1.2_Update2-04.noarch.rpm

Am I right?

TIA,

Timothée

I followed by installing with --force openssh, then client and server
The only rpm I did not install from the e-smith ftp site was the SME rpm -
which seems to me is there to install the other rpms through the blade?

Somebody correct me if this is a fallacious argument.

Of course I also skipped the php rpms.

Everything installed with no problem - had to restart httpd

Except that now I have NO access to my server!
The websites are accessible, but the server-manager, SSH (I haven't tested FTP, but that seems kinda moot) are not.

I have just upgraded a 4. to 5.1.2 and when I installed the blade I too got this error.
There are package conflicts with the SMEServer-5.1.2_Update2 blade
error: failed dependencies:
php = 4.0.4pl1-9 is needed by php-manual-4.0.4pl1-9
Does this only relate to the manual or is this goinng to cause a problem with the program?
Also does this error show up for everyone or just the ones that have made some manual upgrade of PHP?

Thanks Charlie...
You sent me indirectly back the thread my question was in.

I read the whole threasd and the only thing I do not understand is:
> php = 4.0.4pl1-9 is needed by php-manual-4.0.4pl1-9

The reason I asked is that the 4. Version I upgraded to 5.1.2 was stock and so it surprised me that a upgrade to 5.1.2 and subsequently the blade upgrade would create an error.
If I make the 5.1.2 a fresh install, will I still get the error from the blade?
Thanks
Dave
