Hi All,

I have this problem, i am currently running E-smith 5.5 with an ADSL connection. It was working fine untill they upgraded there Cisco IOS on ther LNS server the the newest version on recommendation from cisco, now my connection doesnt connect. We have done some testing and found that all other product (ie Cisco 827, Windows XP, Dlink routers) will connect but linux boxes running Kernel 2.2 wont, yet i have a snapgear box and have tried another linux box both running Kernel 2.4 connect with no problems at all.

It seems aso 2.2 doesnt correct communicate network info info such as MRU and MTU along with the ppp streaming session that gets established. Is there anyway i can upgrade the PPPoE or Kernel that can fix this with out recking my Box ?

ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/dev/5.6dev/iso/smeserver-5.6beta7.iso

plus all the rpms here:

ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/dev/5.6dev/updates

This will update your system to use a 2.4 kernal.  It has been implied by Mitel sources that after the updates your server will be stable and secure.  YMMV.
