Allowed RCPTHOSTS & VPN

Good Afternoon,

I have something that is puzzling me concerning POP3 email. I have a VPN setup through 5.1.2 between two locations. I'm running my email server on 5.6 at the primary location. The VPN is up and works. The remote location cannot send email to anyone outside of the local domain. The primary location can send email to whoever they wish. I have the email programs on the remote location looking at the internal address of the email server. They can receive email all day long but just can't send outside of the domain.

A penny for your thoughts,

Wally

P.S. I don't know why but the VPN with 5.1.2 is a breeze to setup with no problems. I must've been missing something with 5.6 because I could never get that to work. Acckkk...

Good Morning,

Figured out the problem. I have three separate SME boxes. Two 5.6 and one 5.1.2. The two 5.6 boxes take care of email and content filtering. The 5.1.2 box is my VPN box. I needed to not only add the remote network addresses as a local network on the 5.1.2 box but also on the other two. After doing this, the remote location was able to send email to whoever.

Later,

Wally

P.S. Lame joke of the day:

What do you call a pastor of a church in Germany?

A German shepherd.

Just a little play on words. :)
