I have found that the latest version of Flexbackup used in 6.0final generates the "exclusion" list differently. The version in 5.6 and 5.5 generated a set of cascaded "egrep"s, using the patterns specified in the template (and carried into the flexbackup.conf). However the version of flexbackup in 6.0final (not sure about 6.0beta), uses the "regex" parameter to "find" to action the exclusions. The difference is that the latter requires a regular expression which identifies the complete path, whereas the former was just a pettern search in the path. This means to make your exclusions work, you need to add ".*" at the front and back of each exclusion spec.
Took me quite a while to find this, nd accoount for why my backups started overflowing the tape.
