I have been a poster on this board for years. I was with E-Smith from the very beginning and have followed and always supported E-Smith and SME Server. I have mostly posted anonymously and sometimes I have actually remembered to use my username.

Rather than using the justification of a few bad apples who wander in and post their drivel in a pathetic attempt to disrupt the forums as a reason to require registration for posters you should be asking the following question.
Have anonymous posters ever contributed in a helpful manner to this forum and its users now or in the past?
If the answer is Yes (and I know it is) than the idea of requiring registration for the privlege of posting here should not be the question you want to ask.
Rather it should be what do you do to fairly control rude posters and once they have posted improperly how to we clean it up?
After all this is called "Contribs.org"...right?
