I have used Draytek 2600 in the UK with no issues and good success.

I also have a draytek 2600.  It's excellent but a little expensive.  The latest Draytek’s have VOIP and a usb network printer port in them too.
The web interface is very simple to navigate (far easier than some other router's that I've seen)
Check them out here http://www.draytek.co.uk
The netgear DG834 isn't too bad either http://www.netgear.co.uk but only has VPN pass-through functionality whereas the Draytek can actually create VPN tunnels.
Alternatively, you could look at Linksys http://www.linksys.com

I use an Alcatel (Thomson) Speedtouch 510 - has been flawless but you need to use telnet to configure it properly although the wizard on the CD will get you going.

It won't allow transparent routing though, which can be a problem if you want to let your server do the "dialling" for you, otherwise would recommend.

Thank you very much everyone for responding i have settled for a netgear DG632 as it was thrown in with the purchase of my new computer box. A nice P4 3.2E GHZ + 1 gig of memory.
And already said goodbye to Mr Bill Gates, Fedora Core 2 took only 8 mins to load workstation setup from HTTP server at home now to set it up with nvidia drivers and few other nice toys.
her indoors very impressed with it's size!! and speed I think I have fallen in the ranks.

Thanks Again
