Change duplex on NIC
« on: April 14, 2005, 02:52:25 AM »
I think I have a 3COM 3c905b NIC and it is auto-negotiation to 100 half.  How do I change it to be 100 full?
Thanks,

3c905 was designed before 100bT autonegotiation was. It doesn't autonegotiate using the N-way protocol.

Your options are (in my order of recommendation):

- get a better NIC
- put up with 100 half
- Try adding "options 3c509 xcvr=12" to /etc/modules.conf,
then reboot, and for 100 full duplex on the remote end of
