Alternatively you can use the backup2ws contrib from dmay to backup to shared drives eg workstations.
If you wish to be able to restore as well, then keep your backup file size under 2Gb by specifiying the size in the backup2ws job you create. It will automatically split the backup file into multiple parts but see the files as if they are one big backup file.
Note the backup job # 911, Disaster Recovery Backup will backup everything that is needed to recreate your server. Also note that only the 911 job backs up the mysql databases.
You can create other backup jobs and specify which data you want backed up but they will not include mysql stuff, so be warned.
Do not try to backup the complete sme server file system as it will not work correctly.
Search for further references to the 2Gb and restore issue, it has been answered many times.
