Virtual Email
« on: August 25, 2005, 02:54:39 PM »
I have installed 6.01 and have the server running on a dynamic ip.

I have pointed three of my domains there with no problems. I cannot however set up virtual email addresses.

I would like to have

user1@mydomain1.com
user1@mydomain2.com
user1@mydomain3.com

I would like to be able to use these email addresses with outlook/thunderbird.

Have tried everything and cant seem to get it to work.

Any Suggestions????

Show us the contents of
/etc/e-smith/templates-custom/var/qmail/control/virtualdomains/90aliases

Are the domain2 & 3 user names all valid accounts on the server for the main domain1 ?

What does "can't get it to work" mean ?
More detail please, what error message do you get etc etc. We are not mind readers !

Ray,
I'm also testing this and I can't get it to work. Using SME 6 and the mailblock contrib as well.
My 90aliases:
Quote
info@domainXX.com:john
info@domainYY.com:jfranco

Both users john and jfranco are existing users on the server.

What happens when I send an email to info@anyofthedomains.com is a reply from the server

<info@domainXX.com>: host domainXX.com[200.174.XXX.XXX] said: 553 Sorry, that is an
invalid e-mail address (in reply to RCPT TO command)

I believe that is a mailblocking contrib message.
Check the mailrules you have created and also check the allowed domains
