Topic: Cups is broken after installing two USB printers

Using 6.5

I just configured cups to include two printers, both on USB ports (1 and 2).  The names of each appeared in the list in the cups administration add printer selection, so I know they were both recognized.

However, when I attempted to go into cups admin again, I was blocked.  I tried to print and can't access printer properties any more.

As a result, I uninstalled cups and reinstalled thinking something had just been corrupted - to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Note:  I can't even access port XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:631 using lynx on SME.
