Import users/groups from pdbedit
« on: May 27, 2009, 04:57:08 PM »
I have an existing samba DC and a large user-base.  I was able to successfully append the user/group entries into /etc/group and /etc/passwd (this time, I retained the needed groups ;) )

When I log into the server manager, none of the imported groups appear.  How do I import users with pdbedit so I can manage them?

you have to create users and groups via server-manager..

you can do in batch mode with Lazy Admin Tools

User & group information is contained in more than just /etc/group and /etc/passwd

Look also at
/home/e-smith/db/accounts
and elsewhere too IIRC.
