LDAP and Thunderbird stopped working
« on: October 20, 2015, 11:35:42 AM »
Hi there,

since many years i'm using Thunderbird and LDAP as an global adressbook. But since a few weeks or months it doesn't work. Was there any changes in an update? Security?

Anybody an idea?

Yes, you are right. Sorry.

I tested the function with a local copy of the directory and it get only the message: replication failed

please, open a bug, giving us as many info as you can, being very very verbose on your setup (SME versione, TB version, what you did and so on) and, please, translating all messages into english.
finally, report here the bug reference for future readers

Thank you

There's at least one mistake: in the DN base field, you've used a ; to separate domain components (dc=blah;dc=de) instead of a , (dc=blah,dc=de)
C'est la fin du monde !!!

note
this post is an answer to a mmccarn's one.. please see http://forums.contribs.org/index.php/topic,52015.0.html

mmccarn:

it seems to me another kind of issue with TB, not strictly related to LDAP

even if you are using custom settings, this IMO should be reported in bugzilla tto, since we'd be sure SME will work flawlessy with such a widely used mail client

I'll split this topic

The LDAP replication failed, but the function to search for contacts in the adressbook works. So can work with this issue. Thanks all for your help.
