Hi everyone,
I have E-smith 5.5 with both updates installed. I have been experiencing slow upload speeds and sometimes downloads seem to stall or slow way down after an initial burst of data comes through. I have searched the forums and goggle. I see some posts for forcing the nic card into half duplex, but I am not sure how to do that. I checked Netgear for a dos utility for the card, but they did not have one. Can you do it in Linux? Any ideas as to why this is happening anyone?
I do not think it is any hardware issue as I had Windoze 2000 with sygate net sharing on the machine before and got a straight 240kb stream through all the time. We have a dedicated line from a cisco router from our isp.
My hardward is -
AMD K62 300mhz processor, 256mg of ram
2 Netgear FA310 Nics - internal plugs into 8 port Netgear Hub
2 older ata drives 3.2 mg each with raid 1 in sme
I installed the "services" module from MyEzserver.com web site and turned off squid.
Any ideas would be appreciated as I am pulling my hair out, and my boss is asking when is this thing going to be working right. Thanks!
