Virtual MailDomains

Hi there again,

I've been testing the 4.0 Beta 8 version of E-smith this weekend. But the only thing I am missing is the possibility to manage Virtual MailDomains. Is there anybody who has tested VPOPMAIL and/or QMAILADMIN. Or is there another method who I can use????

TIA,

Eddy,

The 4.0 release will support multiple mail domains, but not full virtual mail domains. Full virtual mail domains is on the TODO list for the next release.

Zachary,

what do I do wrong here. This virtual maildomain stuff is giving me the creeps, archhh. I installed a new system with E-Smith 4 B8, I installed webmin 0.79 (RPM version). I type on my browser 192.168.254.1:1000 and I get ... NOTHING!!! 192.168.254.1 is just working fine!!!!

Is it working 100% on your server???

Oops, it's 192.168.254.1:10000 instead of 192.168.254.1:1000.
3 times sorry!!!
I'll try it now!!!

Almost there, almost there (I hope),

except when I install the qmail.wbm file  in webmin it gives me following error:
failed to upgrade from /home/e-smith/files/users/eddy/qmail.wbm : not a valid webmin file !!!

When I untar it manually, everything is created in a subdirectory just fine!!!

Any ideas,

Eddy,

I'd strongly advise people not to use webmin. It is simply incompatible with the e-smith manager system of configuration.

If you are interested in adding features to the e-smith server and gateway, please read the documentation at http://www.e-smith.org/custom/ and join the developers mailing list.

Notice that the documentation refers to e-smith 3.1. There have been some design changes for the soon to be released 4.0 to make it easier to add new features. That is not yet documented on the website.
