Printing to a Canon bjc250

I have a printer connected to e-smith server and gateway and configured it in the e-smith-manager, lp(t)0. I Connect to the shared printer in Windows2000 and he gives the message ready. But when i want to print a test page it gives the error:
Test page failed to print. Would you like to view the pritn trouble shooter for assistance? Unable to create a print job.
This is the printing part of smb.conf:
[printers]
comment = All Printers
path = /var/spool/samba
browseable = no
public = yes
guest ok = yes
writable = no
printable = yes
Somebody knows the answer to this problem?

I don't have a fix, however my Epson Stylus 740 doesn't work either. I set it up in the e-smith manager. I can see it in network neighborhood, but when I install the printer as a network printer- no printing occurs. Don't know what is up. If you find a fix let me know.

See if there is a switch in the printer driver to turn off 2 way comunication. So of these "Retail" printers need full 2 way comunication that doesn't happen on a network, not even on a all windows network.
Some of the cheap HP's you have to go to the web site and get the business printer driver before you can make them work as a network printer.

I've a canon bj200 ex (you could use your canon bj250 as it were a bj200) and I have it installed on my e-smith machine.
I can print from everywhere in the net to this printer.
this is my printers section of smb.conf
hope it helps
# NOTE: If you have a BSD-style print system there is no need to
# specifically define each individual printer
[printers]
comment = All Printers
path = /var/spool/samba
browseable = no
# Set public = yes to allow user 'guest account' to print
guest ok = no
writable = no
printable = yes
have you tried to print from somewere else
have you tried to print only in black and configure as it were a canon bj 200ex?

We had the same problem, until we rebooted.

Have you (all of you) applied the 4.0.1 update? If you have, and you still have problems, please submit a detailed bug report to bugs@e-smith.com.
Thanks

I have also a canon BJC-250. And this stands in my smb.conf.
The printer works fine.
[printers]
comment = All Printers
path = /var/spool/samba
browseable = no
# Set public = yes to allow user 'guest account' to print
guest ok = no
writable = no
printable = yes
