change of ISP phone number
« on: December 30, 2000, 03:25:47 AM »
I have a 4.0 Dialup system running happily. I did the 4.01 upgrade with no problems. The ISP then changed the dialin phone number and so I logged in as admin and made the change to the phone number  and found that it could not connect.

Checking the logs I found that it was still dialing the okd phone number.

So I assume that the old phone number is stored somewnere - I went searching and found the new phone number but no trace of the old one.

Suggestions on where to look for the old number would be appreciated.

Take a look to:
 /etc/diald/connect
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/chat-ppp0
this files are the running ones

and the templates are in
etc/e-smith/templates (factory settings)
etc/e-smith/templates-custom (wich are the ones suposed to be modified by user)

There is another file: home/e-smith/configuration, that has the phone# inside
I will try to change the number in my system to see what happens, and I'll tell you.
but probably it would be next year!  ;)
