Topic: SMTP open, POP3 closed

Hi,

In more email settings I have POP en IMAP server access set to PUBLIC. When I do a portscan (www.sdesign.com) I see port 25 open (SMTP) and 110 closed (POP3).

Why is 25 open, as this should never be the case?
Why is 110 closed, while I have set access to public?

BTW: I see no /etc/sysconfig/ipchains file. It should be there I suppose?

Port 25 is open to accept SMTP email. It's a standard feature of the e-smith server and gateway, and the most reliable way of receiving email for your domain. It's also highly secure.

That's a known bug, for which there is a published workaround. See the bugs link from http://www.e-smith.org/.
