hi!

i´ve installed e-smith server in it runs great as a webserver!

now tried to connect to the ftp-port of the server. but when my ftp-client asks me for a password and login, always after entering the correct login and password, it tells me that the log-in is incorrect!

i tried the same in the lan, in which the server is involved, and it works, but not from the internet!

any ideas?

Merlin:
I think you have configured or leaved default settings of one or both of the FTP options in the e-smith manager, to be private to the internal network, so you will not be able to access ftp site or ibays from the outside unless you deactivate this options (restrictive by default)

Also If your client is claiming for write rights on ftp it will be denied as anonymous login.
