Topic: forum leper, need help with ibay access

I have posted several times regarding access to ibays via ftp and I think I have been blacklisted.  I apologize to whom ever I have offended, I dont know what I have done though...  anyways.

  there have been several posts regarding accessing ibays via ftp, I believe there is a bug, but there has been no response.  Charlie did respond to one of my posts but this method does not work.

  using the name of the ibay and the ibay password to access the ibay via ftp, I always get anonymous access permitted, please enter email addres..

  If this is a dumb user error, I would like to know, but I do not believe it is.  I have checked the permissions on the ibay, and they do correspond to the name of the ibay and I have looked through the proftp config files and cant figure out why this is happening.  If someone can ftp into an ibay successfully with the name of the ibay as the user name, and the password would be the password of the ibay, please let me know.

after all that is said, I do truly love this product.  It has made for a very effiecient server on low end hardware.

I've had the same problem. It's not a bug. If you go to the e-smith manager and to the remote access it tells you that there is no external write access granted to anonymous ftp or to the i-bays. I believe there is a way to change this but you would likely have to be good at linux or be a paying customer.

It would be helpful and probably profitable for E-Smith if they had a charge by the minute phone support. I can't spend $500-$600 on it but I wouldn't mind paying to have some support.
