ftp problem with uploading html
« on: November 22, 2000, 08:37:57 PM »
I think i have a problem with the ftp daemon, because when i try to upload the html files with Adobe GoLive 5.0 my Browser (IE 5.5) give me a warning message that the side is corrupt. In some html files is a javascript-code.

I tried a other ftp prog to uploade the files and find out that the size of all data (html and pics) is a little bit smaller than the original data.
When i use binary mode everything is ok only in ascii mode are the files damaged.

My question is:

Is it possible to change the standart transferemode of the ftp deamon (proftp) from ascii to binary and where do i have to do this ?

I realized this problem after i have updated some things (apache, quotas, ..) on my server.
Three or four weeks ago I used GoLive 4 and everything was ok until I made the changes.
Every other server i tried works correct with GoLive 5.0 and the html files.

I thing it must be a setting problem on my e-smith server.

Thanks for your helping

Dominik
