RAID and Disksizes

I've got a server with two 20GB HD installed.
When selecting the "RAID on two HD" option at installation, the system installs whithout problems, but is looks like the disk size used on BOTH HDs is less then 10GB. Why isn't the first HD used completely and on the other HD the RAID? Is this due to the type of RAID used?

I hope someone from e-smith is watching this forum and give us a reply pretty quick! It's crazy having 2x20 or 30GB drives and getting only 1/4 of the space on the combined drives, or 1/2 of the mirrored volume!

I did many raid1 linux install and 1 with e-smith 4.1.2 with hd of size up to 30 Gb.
I never had problems.

Only thingh to check for, is that both drives have the same geometry (both LBA or CHS)

I had the same problem. Check out this thread  http://www.e-smith.org/bboard//read.php?f=1&i=6855&t=6855. Did you start out with one new drive and one used drive?
