Topic: installation problems with e-smith 4.0

Hello,

I read an article in a pc magazine which describes the e-smith server and gateway. I decided to give it a try for my home network. So, I downloaded the iso image file for version 4.0 and created the cd and bootable diskette.

Now, when trying to install, I receive some errors:
The first one appears after typing in "accept" and "proceed". There appears a box with the title "Kickstart error" and contains the following message:

Error opening: kickstart file
/tmp/ks.cfg: no such file or directory

I pressed OK and the installation seems to proceed. But then, a few screens later it is giving me the message that it can't find a RedHat cd....that's very strange, because the cd is inserted
I burned it with easy cd creator and it can be read in windows.

I copied the cd to the hard drive and started the installation from the bootable floppy and said the hard drive contains the installation packets. The installation doesn't stop with the error of not finding a cd-rom....but it stops a few seconds later with the message that I can safely reboot my machine!!!
And of course, that wasn't my intention...

On an other machine the same happens.

Does anybody knows an answer to this weird problem?? Or should I just burn a new cd??

I found the exact same problem.  
I just tried installing 4.1b2.
Did you/anyone find a solution?.

Well, in my case installing version 4.1b2 solved the problem and it is running smoothly now. Does anyone know when the final version of 4.1 will be released?
