I have the following problems with our IMAP mail clients (MS Outlook
98, MS OE 5, Netscape Mail 6.1 on 6 PCs):
- Messages later from 14/09/2001 not displayed in inboxes
- Sub-sub-folders not displayed in IMAP tree structures (i.e. I cannot see further than levels)
I identified 2 possible causes on
www.e-smith.org:
http://www.e-smith.org/bugs/index.php3?op=showBug&bugID=21Users not receiving email
As they indicate it's fixed in 4.1.2, I upgraded, otherwise there is the RPM

smtpfwdd does run...
http://www.e-smith.org/bugs/index.php3?op=showBug&bugID=45IMAP email 'dissapearing', or displaying strangely (the famous billion second
bug)
I did the fix as told in a shell:
FTP=ftp://ftp.e-smith.com/pub/e-smith/updates/4.1.2/RPMS/i386/
rpm -Uvh $FTP/imap-4.7-1mdir8es.i386.rpm
I upgraded to 4.1.2 and applied the billion second bug patch. I had backed up everything but it seems the upgrade procedure did not touch anything in my config (thanks)
And the problem continues...
If anybody had this type of problem, can he tell me if he/she fixed it and HOW?
Other clues:
When I cd into:
home/e-smith/files/users/myself/Maildir/cur (my own inbox)
I do not see any message with a date > 14/09/2001
BUT when I ran fetchmail in verbose mode I DID see messages for me, so where ARE they now?
smtpfwdd is running
no imapd process is running
I did not run fetchmail with the -d360 parameter as usual, I can run it again, but it's not the one which reads mailboxes, it just feeds them with new messages...
