I see that the new mitel iso has been released.  Is this just e-smith 4.12 with servicelink?  If I plan on not using servicelink, should I stick with 4.12?

No. It is a substantial update with new features and some
bug fixes.

There are two SME Server V5 releases - one with ServiceLink
and one without. In all other respects the releases are
identical.

No. All new development will be on the SME Server V5 base.

We recommend all users of 4.1.2 upgrade to the SME Server V5.

FYI: ServiceLink virus protection had the new Nimda worm pattern
file out to subscribed servers as soon as it was released by
Trend Micro.

$595 for 90 days or $1885/yr, in combination with IPSEC VPN support, DNS hosting, backup MX, and server monitoring.  If you just want the e-mail protection, $1295/yr.

I agree.  I understand the price is very good for businesses, in comparison to other semi-comparable solutions (M$ Small Business Server plus some sort of virus scanner, plus a support contract, plus...), but it'd be nice to have a home version as well.  Hey, if anybody writes a GPL'd virus scanner, we could do it...

Does " Rav " still work with essg 5.0 ? We use Rav from Darrell and it does a great job.

Please see

which has links to the pricing information. Please note that
these are list prices - please contact an authorized partner
to discuss pricing.

You need to address Rav support issues to Darrell.

You'll need to address this question to a Rav reseller, such
as Darrell. We haven't done anything to stop Rav working, but
we also have not tested it.

Thanks,

http://www.openantivirus.org has alpha code out, and it's in active development.  The thing they need right now is a bigger active community and Virus signatures.
