Topic: Virtual host on separate port

I've set up a genealogy server (GeneWeb) to run as a separate port on my e-smith (V5) server. The service runs as a separate web service under port 2317 so the URL is http://mydomain.net:2317, however I'd like the service to have its own unique domain name, so that it can be reached at gene.mydomain.net.

Does anyone know how this can be done?
