Its not just my Mac's, its my PC's as well.  Every print job i send to my printer comes out as what looks like raw postscript text...

arrrrgh, it worked fine under 4.1.2

...

What do I do now!  There is very little in these forums regarding printing problems and resolutions.

I can try to help :)

First some more info....

1) What printers are printing to? (i.e. Lexmark Optra T616?)

2) How to you have them setup in the manager? (i.e. print straight to a an IP address, locally connected, or to a hostname, raw, etc)

3) What version of the drivers are you using on the client?

One possible guess of the problem before I see your answers:

I had setup three Lexmark Optra T610's with an Ethernet interface on the network and printed to them fine...from some apps. From others, I would get raw postscript. In my case, the simple solution was to tell the driver on the client to send postscript in ASCII format instead of tagged binary.

The printer in question is a NEC SuperScript 1400

It is attached to the parallel port of my SME 5 box.

I've configured it in the manager panel as such:
Name:   nec
Description: basement nec
Port: Lpt 0
Format RAW

I'll check the driver settings for the PC's

On the Mac side, there is no PPD for this printer that I could find.  I was using the generic laserwriter ppd option in the printer settings.

Again, this used to work fine until I upgraded to V5, and now it does not work for either.  It looks like what is printing is raw postscript or PCL, but I'm not sure.

I'll reset the printer tonight, remove the printer from the server, and add it back.

I'll also check the drivers as you suggested to see if that helps.

Thanks for your time.
