Topic: Can RAID be turned "off" temporarily?

Hi,

This is yet another newbie question.  Is it possible to turn RAID "off" temporarily on my e-smith 4.1.2 server?  I'm trying to determine if RAID is causing my system to slow to a crawl when accessing an ACT! database stored on the server.

Along with this question, once RAID is "off" could I enable the remaining HD to utilize the "better speed" option - which is that question that gets asked when you configure the server right after basic install?
