Topic: Portforwarding HowTo using MacSSH

Hi,

I am trying to use the portforwarding rpm and howto with a goal to portforward port 80 to an internal web server at 192.168.1.2.

The absence of posts on this forum about trouble forwarding port 80 indicates I am doing something wrong. I am not able to get a web page when I add port 80 forwarded to 192.168.1.2.

Here is what I have so far.

I entered the script suggested by the Howto

The Howto seemed clear enough, and I get the same results as the Howto from
/usr/bin/ipmasqadm portfw -n -l.

However, I can't connect with telnet as indicated.

I have tried setting the port in the  tabs General and Firewall in MacSSH but can't connect externally.  Telnet to port 23 still works.

I am wondering if my telnet client needs additional configuration settings.  Does any Mac user out there confirm that the tests shown in the Howto work with MacSSH?

SSH usually uses port 22!

But the example isn't SSH.  MacSSH includes a variety of features.  I am using in the telnet mode for my tests.

I set the port to what the HowTo used as examples on two attempts.  Neither would connect.  

Anyone able to portforward 80 to an internal Linux webserver?
