Hi all,
I am not new to Linux but I am to E-Smith SME v5.0. I have found it to be a great distro.
I have a couple of questions though.
1. I have installed Squidguard (ie: squidguard interface v2.1 version, I found mentioned on the forums) which goes through a script and adds a menu to the E-smith server manager console and installs, configures squidguard. When I click on that link in server manager it cannont display the webpage. I can get to the Squidguard admin page by going to eg:
http://fs1/squidguard the problem with this is it is easy for network users to find out and then make thier IP have full access to all sites etc.
2. During the installation of squidguard the script tries to download the blacklist file but fails. I got around this by manually placing the file in the right directory, editing the script that untar's and then converts the file into the DB's by removing the top section where it tries to download from the internet. Everything runs ok then but it would be great to have this automated which the script tries to do but not for me.
3. I also have a requirement to controll how much bandwidth is allocated to a file as it is downloaded from the internet. EG: a user may try to download a file with the exetention .avi or .mp3 and I would like to allocate a small or no bandwidth to this file type.
I know you can do this under normal squid but I am not yet familiar with the E-Smith meathod of using templates to change conf files.
Thanks in advance for any help I recieve.
Regards
Craig
