Raid 0 with HPT370A
« on: December 26, 2001, 01:25:59 AM »
Hi,

Is there someone who has made a raid 0 configuration using the Highpoint HPT370A Controller, because I've got is working as a raid 1 device on 4.12 but when I try a raid 0 configuration things go wrong on startup of E-smith. Will there be HPT370 support on the newer version off E-Smith (mitel) because I'm still using 4.12 because it has the same kernel as RH 7.0 so I can use my Highpoint card.

Merry X-mas to all off you and Happy E-smithing in the next year,

If there someone who made the Highpoint HPT370A Controller works without Raid
I'm interested too for my ABIT KT7A-RAID. :-)

I have been trying to get the Highpoint HPT370A controller working under SME5.0 as a raid 1 controller but have had absolutely no luck.  If someone can get a fix or work around for this issue, that would be great.

I have explored Axon linux since it is based on the newest RH kernel, which has support for the highpoint controller and the new journaling filesystem, but I think the Axon project has died.

Hi Everyone,

Merry X'Mas and Happy New Year.

There were a few postings about this issue in the past. Specifically, what's been pointed out is as follows :

1. SME 5.0 is not based on a standard Red Hat kernel. Therefore neither RH7.0 or RH7.1 drivers which are available for the HPT370A will work.

2. Highpoint does not intend to release their linux driver source codes (I have personally e-mailed them and this was their reply). Therefore, no one can compile a new driver to suit SME5.0.

Regards,

Kelvin
