Success...but now....

I finally was able to find a combination of RAM that has finally allowed me to install SME 5 onto my P166-MMX.  Thanks to those who were able to help me with that.

So, I have now encorporated the server into my LAN.  I am running 2 Wintels behind a Linksys BEFSR41 Router.  I realize that I could take out the router, and have the E-smith be my gateway from now on, but that is not my desire.  The Smith Server is now a third node on the LAN just as my old NT4 server was.  The issue now is that with only 1 nic in the machine, and the appropriate ports mapped through my router to that machine (http mapped to port 80, etc) I am running DSL.  The Linksys router takes care of my connection for me by doing the PPPoE connection.  With my NT server, I had a program that would grab my external IP and map it to DYNDNS.ORG so that web and ftp access was possible if I used my domain name in the appropriate program.

If I understand the manual correctly, I cannot run any kind of dynamic DNS service unless I run in "Server/Gateway" mode.  Has anybody successfully configured this situation and give me any pointers on how they did it?

I've got the same sort of stuff here and I use IPCheck (http://ipcheck.sourceforge.net) and it works OK...

So, you set it up as a cron job?
