Allowing the use of forbidden characters for username/passwo

Hi,

Well, I now know how to expand the lenght of the user name but now, I would like to know if it is possible to configure SME to use some forbidden characters for user names such as "_" ?

I currently have more than 40 users with a "_" in their user name (in fact, the name is like this "USER_xx" where xx is a number) and I am a bit too lazy to rename each user for them to be able to print on my SME server box ...

So, how can I use "_" character and UPPERCASE usernames ?

Thanks

Excuse my jumping in on this but I have a problem integrating an SME server into an existing Windows network. All the exisiting user names are of the form p lakra, i.e. with a space between the initial and the surname. This is fine for NT servers and Windows clients and I am told by my local guru that Linux itself has no problem with user names with spaces so why e-smith?

This is a real problem because we cannot make all the users change their names. Also how can you have a general migration tool from NT to e-smith if SME server cannot accept these other name formats?
