Forwarding email to internal mail server
« on: February 05, 2001, 01:52:49 AM »
Hi,

I looked for my problem in the user guide, but I didn´t find a solution.
I want to forward the emails to a mail-server on my intern network.
If someone knows how it can work, please let me know.

Thanks,
Markus

Within the I think it is "Other Email settings" in the web-based "e-smith-manager"
there is a Field "Delegate Mailserver" Enter the servername or IP of your internal
mailserver you want to use. The e-smith will then fetch your mail from the internet
and forward it to this server.

I saw this field. There is also the field "Email retrieval mode", but I don´t if I have to change the settings to "ETRN" or "multidrop". I also don´t know if e-smith holds a copy of the email which are forwarded or not.

If you pick up all your mail from a single POP-Box at your ISP's Mailserver
you should use "Multidrop". If you are permanent online and you have a
dedicated IP-Adress you can use "standart", if not and if your ISP's Mailserver
just keep your Mails in his smtp-qeue you can use "ETRN"

eeehhhh  no, if you get a letter by mistake you normally don't make a copy of it
before giving it to the right adressee  :-))
