Hello,

I use e-smith as a webserver in a hosting company.. .. And i'm very happy about SME 5.1 witch is the version i'm currectly running.

i use my SME Server to host domains (www.a-domain.com) and give them a FTP-access with PHP, MySQL etc.

But what is the easiest way to create domains, and users etc.

The I-BAY Function suX because witch options u need to choose if you want

Give them Password-protected FTP Access

a Homepage (linked to a virtual domain) Anonymous access, so all can access the homepage.

Is there a cool function to do that ? etc. a modification in some of the config files..

In sme 5.0 ftp write to a ibay is turned off. How did you setup ftp full access to a ibay. I am also looking into hosting website via sme.

Hey Doyle

I programmed my own program, witch automaticly run, every time i create an ibay.

So it create pass protected FTP access
a virtual domain (to the ibay)
A open site, witch can be access by any one
enable .htacces
create a MySQL database, with a username and password
............. etc...

So not SME is the perfect solution for internet hosting, im planing to make a RPM of my app. ...... But i need to learn how to do first =)

please tell me what you did to manage this. I have been trying for ages to have my ibays open for all the world for http traffic and password protected for the ftp traffic. This limitation is the only thing stopping our business from buying the product
