USR PCI modem

USR PCI modem

I have a USR pci internal modem.It is not a winmodem. After running rpm
LNUX_3ComMdm-1.0-1.i386.rpm , the modem is assigned ttyS3 but the port is shown as 0x6000 in /etc/serial.conf. At any rate it will not work.any ideas ?
