There are several Linux distributions for sparc machines. As far i know also RedHat and SuSE have one on their FTP servers. I tried a SuSE distri on my Sparcstation 10 last year, it runs well and fast enough for some small services.
E-Smith basically is a (excellent) modified RedHat Distribution, but only supports I386/586 systems. In theory it is possible doing the same under every linux machine, installing a base RedHat on sparc and then compiling repacking every E-Smith related package.. but it would be a project for sleepless people with a big time frame left i guess.
